Relentless Forward Progress Launch Week Contest Winners

The announcement of the seven winners of the Relentless Forward Progress Launch Week contests.

I thought I’d outdone myself when I put the Relentless Forward Progress Launch Week contests together. Well, whether or not that was the case, all you iRunFar readers outdid me by a huge margin. I’m in awe of the more than 5,000(!?) entries in the seven contests… or about one entry for every dollar worth of prizes being offered. One contest alone had 919 entries.

Relentless Forward ProgressAs you know, I put these contests together to celebrate the launch of my new book, Relentless Forward Progress: A Guide to Running Ultramarathons. I’ll have to admit to being as overwhelmed by the response to the book as I am to your response to the contests. Over the past few weeks, I’ve sent out 100s of copies while Amazon.com has run out more than once. I’m also quite excited that the reviews and feedback have been so positive. That said, there have only been a few published reviews and a few more on Amazon, so I’d love to hear what those who’ve read it think of the book whether by leaving a comment or contacting me directly, if you prefer. Honestly, I welcome all constructive feedback. Between my ability to provide updates and corrections on iRunFar and in future printings, your suggestions will help me and countless other ultrarunners.

The Big Winners!

  • Montrail, Mountain Hardwear & Petzl – Casey Henion of Charlottesville, VA
  • La Sportiva, Black Diamond, SmartWool & more – Jens T. of Astoria, NY
  • Salomon and Julbo – Steve Pollihan of St. Louis, MO
  • Pearl iZUMI, Ryders, Gu & more – Mariko of Portland, OR
  • The North Face and Smith – Mark Schleicher of Madison, WI
  • GORE-TEX TransRockies Run – Sara M of Yarker, ON, Canada
  • Mizuno, CamelBak & GoMotion – Tim Casagrande of Rocklin, CA

(Winners, I’ll be in touch, as I should have all of your email addresses from the contest entries. If you don’t think you included it, please feel free to contact me.)

Thanks!
Thanks to everyone for your cheers of the past few weeks, but, more important, thanks for your support and encouragement over the past three and a half years. Without it, iRunFar would likely have long since ceased to exist and I’d still be an attorney in Washington, DC. As it is, I just hit the two year anniversary of leaving my legal job to write about running full-time. I’ll skip the status report (unless folks clamor for one), but let’s just say that I’m not looking back. So, again, THANKS!
