Salomon Sense Ride 5 — Women’s

From short runs to ultras, the Salomon Sense Ride 5 provides even cushioning while still letting you feel the terrain underfoot. Salomon uses its signature SensiFit upper and its one-pull Quicklace system. The outsoles are All-Terrain Contagrip which can take hold on a variety of surfaces.

The Salomon Sense Ride 5 shoes offer moderate cushioning for use on rugged trails with an 8-millimeter drop.

Saucony Peregrine 13 — Men’s

Made to tackle rugged trails, the Saucony Peregrine 13 includes a rock plate, gaiter-compatible D-rings, and a protective film on the uppers that protect against abrasion. Underneath, the brand’s PWRRUN foam cushion protects and propels you while the PWRTRAC lugs offer grip on the terrain.

The Saucony Peregrine 13 trail shoes have a moderate cushion for use on rugged trails with a 4-millimeter drop.

Salomon Speedcross 6 — Women’s

A rugged runner, Salomon Speedcross 6 is lighter than its predecessor with a new upper and a sole that sheds mud faster for better grip on wet surfaces. Built for maximum grip on loose, rugged, and uneven surfaces, the Mud Contagrip rubber outsoles have deep, sharp lugs made from a compound that focuses on adhesion.

A high-rebound compound in the midsole is designed to return energy while providing cushion over long hauls. The Salomon Speedcross 6 also comes with the brand’s SensiFit upper and Quicklace system.

The Salomon Speedcross 6 has a 10-millimeter drop and is at home on rugged, technical terrain.

Salomon XA Pro 3D V8 — Men’s (GTX) & Women’s

The Salomon XA Pro 3D V8 is a crossover shoe made for hiking on trails with a little running mixed in. The midsoles have a balance of cushion and stability with a molded OrthoLite liner to shed weight and a stability-minded 3D chassis.

A men’s GTX version is also on sale. Built to thrive in wet or variable weather conditions, the outsoles use Contagrip’s wet compound and the uppers offer Gore-Tex waterproof protection. They come equipped with the brand’s familiar SensiFit uppers and Quicklace system, too.

Salomon gave the midsoles a balance of cushion and stability with a molded OrthoLite liner to shed weight and a stability-minded 3D chassis.

The Salomon XA Pro 3D V8 shoes are made with moderate cushion. They have an 11-millimeter drop.

Saucony Xodus Ultra 2 — Men’s

The Saucony Xodus Ultra 2 is Saucony’s max-cushion trail shoes. You’ll find a high stack of 32.5 millimeters in the heel and protective features like a rock guard and debris shield.

The sequel’s design allow for more space inside the shoe, with a mesh construction that emphasizes breathability. Underfoot, the brand’s PWRRUN PB foam offers protection under the foot while “re-energizing” too.

The Saucony Xodus Ultra 2 is a max-cushion, off-trail shoe with a 6-millimeter drop.

Altra Lone Peak 7 — Women’s

The Altra Lone Peak 7 carries over popular design elements like the Trailclaw lugs under the forefoot, the signature Altra footbox shape, and a zero-drop stack.

Upgrades to the grippy outsoles and upper materials may make it more trail-ready than the previous version, and there’s a stability heel clip plate that’s new, too.

The Altra Lone Peak 7 trail running shoes offer moderate cushion and zero drop. Plenty of thru-hikers swear by the Lone Peak models and will take note of the durability-minded updates.

Salomon Speedcross — Kids’

The Salomon Speedcross Kids’ offers the same design and prowess as the full-sized version, but in a pint-sized package.

The shoes come equipped with SensiFit to ensure a snug fit, Mud Contagrip outsoles for maximum traction on variable terrain, and the patented Quicklace system for easily putting the shoes on and taking them off.
