We’re excited to launch a new monthly column for 2019 called Community Voices! With it, we’re not only looking to share different voices from within our sport, but to also allow those voices to flourish in whatever medium best suits the author and/or the story.
What We’re Looking For
We challenge you to create something new, something different, something you’ve rarely seen in our sport. That goes for both the form and the substance.
We’re looking for stories that express the emotive depths of the running experience, that show the physicality of our sport, that celebrate wild spaces, or that encourage community self-examination… just to give a few examples. For more concrete examples, you can see what’s already been published in Community Voices… but don’t let those limit you or your imagination!
As for form, that’s up to you! We’d love to see poetry, photography, a video, creative prose, or even a terrific narrative.
The sky is the limit in our sport, so why can’t we imagine just as big for the way we share it with one another?
The Submission Process
Submissions are now open. Use the ‘Community Voices Submission’ drop down on our Contact page to make your submission. Each month, we’ll consider the pending submissions and slate one for publication.
As we expect a large number of submissions for this column, we do not plan to reply to most submissions. We’ll consider submissions and contact the creator(s) whose submission we dream of publishing. Thanks for your understanding!
This is a paid column.
